Made from a newly designed formula, which includes Porcelain, they are so tough and hard wearing that they come in a super thin format. Unlike conventional veneers, which are also made from Porcelain, these particular veneers can be fitted straight onto the teeth without any preparation work. Most Lumineer’s can be fitted by a dentist in their surgery, and in your lunch hour as they take less than 30 minutes to adhere to the teeth. Although they are very thin, they still cover all the aforementioned cosmetic problems that a lot of people have. With normal veneers a lot of preparation work is needed to enable the thicker veneers to be fitted properly. The teeth are shaved of their enamel and the veneer then replaces that enamel, which means that unless you want to lose the tooth entirely, you can only ever have a veneer fitted to it. The Lumineer lasts around 20 years compared to 10-15 for the conventional veneers. If you need any other work done on the tooth, then with the Lumineer it is quite easy to have it lifted off to enable this to be done, then you can either leave the tooth as it originally was or have the Lumineer re-fitted. That is one of the main advantages along with the reduction in cost.

We all get teeth problems in our lifetime; no matter how well we look after our teeth says a Bootle dentist. Many of these problems are caused by circumstances beyond our control, and are often expensive to fix. Having teeth problems knocks our confidence and makes us conscious of the problem when speaking to people. Let’s look at some of the most common; discoloured teeth, chipped, cracked and misaligned teeth. The good news is that all these problems can be fixed with a Lumineer, but how? Well, a Lumineer is a veneer and we all know what a veneer is don`t we? This innovative type is fairly new and it really is a revolution in modern day dentistry. Made from a specially designed formula, it is tougher than a conventional veneer and so it comes in a much thinner format. It can be fitted in less than an hour and you can even have more than one at a time. There is no need in most cases for an anaesthetic as there is no need to shave the tooth before fitting, as is the case with normal veneers. Tests have shown they can last up to 20 years, and if a better method comes along in the future, then the Lumineer is simply removed to allow work on the tooth. With a normal veneer, once the tooth is shaved to accept the veneer it can only ever have a new veneer fitted back on. The price of a Lumineer is also better than a veneer as not so much work is needed.

The most common kind of dental injuries occur from head traumas, often from playing sports or car accidents, when teeth are cracked, chipped or broken. In these circumstances the dentist will first attempt to mend the tooth using composite dental bonding made form tooth coloured resin. In some case however, the tooth is so badly damaged that bonding alone is not enough to preserve its integrity. In these cases the dentist will need to cap the tooth with a veneer to ensure that no further damage is possible and that the tooth can maintain its functionality.

Veneers are not just used for dental repairs and are more and more becoming the option of choice for cosmetic dental procedures. With the advances in dental technology, veneers are no longer the unrealistic, clunky artificial teeth they were in the past. Today’s incredibly thin translucent veneers resemble real teeth more than ever before and can be used to improve the appearance of several dental conditions.

Patients who suffer from worn down, discoloured or unevenly spaced teeth can have veneers fitted to restore the appearance of a bright, healthy and even looking smile.

Modern veneers are manufactured from porcelain using the very latest in computer

-aided technology. Dentists are able to construct a 3D image of the patient’s teeth on a computer using the latest digital x-rays and 3D imaging. Using this recreation, they can design veneers to remarkable degrees of accuracy. This has removed the need for uncomfortable and time-consuming dental moulds and x-rays. When satisfied with the results, the dentist can use the computer to manufacture the veneer using a milling device. A single piece of porcelain is milled to the exact specifications of the 3D replication. This can then be fitted into the patient’s teeth with minimal fuss. This whole process can take as little as two hours, which is a vast improvement on the old manufacturing process which could take weeks.

Modern porcelain veneers are very thin, some as thin as a contact lens, which means only minimal enamel removal is needed in order to fit them. In fact some veneers are so thin they can be placed over existing dental work with minimal preparation of the tooth.

Porcelain veneers are a strong, versatile and lifelike substitute for real teeth that if properly cared for can last as much as ten years. If you are suffering from damaged teeth, or could do with your discoloured teeth being brightened, ask a Toxteth dentist about porcelain veneers.

It really is amazing these days the many ways we have to create straight white teeth. The ways most people know about when they watch 10 Years younger or Extreme Makeover, are smile makeovers and porcelain veneers. And they are certainly the quickest way of having a straight white smile, and is a lot of what we do here at SAVING FACES In Liverpool. But we now have other ways to straighten teeth without the use of porcelain.

Orthodontics is all about moving teeth, and traditional adult orthodontics has often consisted of wearing fixed braces for up to 2 years. Many adults don’t want to wear fixed braces for that long. So now we have 3 other options. Invisalign, a system of wearing clear thin gumshield or “Aligners” usually for 9- 12 months. We also have “6 months smiles” where a fixed but tooth colured brace is worn, but usually only for 6 months to achieve to desired effect in the front of the mouth, and finally the Inman Aligner, a removable appliance which is worn for only a few months to straighten just the 4 front teeth.

Things have never been so exciting in Cosmetic Dentistry here at Saving Faces, and especially now money is tight ,more people than ever are using our easy payment 0% finance scheme. Most people pay around £80 per month for their treatment, and at SAVING FACES in Liverpool, it really is a case of” smile now pay later”

Well they travel from far and wide…… well Woolton and Gateacre near Liverpool anyway! We had two ladies in recently who had watched “10 Years Younger “and seen a smile makeover being performed. The bit they liked most however , was the idea of the” Trial Smile “before the porcelain veneers were fitted. How do they make those temporary veneers or crowns to look so good.?Well here at SAVING FACES that’s exactly what we do. We send some impressions of your teeth to California where they mock up your teeth exactly as they might look when they are finished, Then we prepare you teeth for your smile makeover, and fit your “Trial Smile” to see what you think.
The beauty of the “Trial Smile” is that it is in acrylic , and you wear it for days or weeks, have it adjusted as you wish until you say,”Thats id exactly how I would like my new smile to look. Then we take new pictures and impressions and have the new ceramics made exactly to your desired specification, here at SAVING FACES in Aintree near Liverpool..It takes any guessing out of the final result, and you can be as sure as possible that you will receive the smile you want.
Certainly the ladies from Woolton and Gateacre were happy with the results of both their “trial smile” and their final new porcelain smile.!
