Bootle Dentists Recommend White Fillings Over Amalgam Fillings

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Gone are the days when you have to endure unsightly metal fillings for cavity repair. Now Bootle white fillings are available which are hailed to give any individual a natural looking-smile.
Most dental patient would prefer white fillings over amalgam fillings because the former are mercury-free. Amalgam fillings contain mercury which is viewed as toxic for the body. Aside from the fact that white fillings represent a more advanced technology, it also carries several advantages:
• They restore the original strength of your tooth because they bond to the teeth. In contrast amalgam weakens the tooth and makes it susceptible to breaking. White fillings may be expensive initially but the cost is worth it in the long run.
• They restore the natural look of your tooth.
• They are mercury-free.
• White fillings make the restored teeth less sensitive to cold and hot.
• Only a small tooth structure is required for removal during white filling procedure. For new cavity repair, only a small hole is made for the white filling.
Procedure:
White fillings procedure involves the numbing of the area, preparing the tooth for restoration and removing of decay. The dentist will then fill the cavity with white fillings. After the fillings have been cured, they will be shaped and smoothed for comfort and fit.
Something that your Bootle dentists should tell you about white fillings is that they can be weakened by too much alcohol consumption. Premature deterioration of white fillings is noted among individuals who have a habit of drinking large amount of alcoholic beverages on a daily basis.

CHANGE MORE THAN 1 FILLING PER VISIT WITH CEREC

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Now I don’t want to get too technical here(!) but you may know that CEREC is the most modern, accurate and speedy way of replacing your old mercury amalgam fillings with porcelain inlays. Previously you would have had to have had impressions taken of your teeth and them sent of to the laboratory to be made into porcelain . You would return 2 weeks later, have another injection, temporary dressing removed and your new inlay tried in. Sometimes they wouldn’t fit, which would lead to the time and inconvenience of having new ones made.

CEREC changed all that , In one visit,  here at SAVING FACES in Aintree near Liverpool. we take images of your teeth and they’re scanned into the CEREC computer which them presents us with a “virtual inlay”. This information is electronically transferred into a milling machine which makes your perfectly fitting inlay in minutes. The inlay so then fitted. The whole process takes 1 hour.

In addition we now have the facility to do more than 1 CEREC per visit with some new software added to the programme. For example Jackie from Liverpool was in to day and had 2 huge old amalgam fillings in her bottom right back teeth. In one visit these were removed, new CEREC inlay so made and bonded into her teeth. They are guaranteed for 5 years but should last many more years than that if looked after well.

FIXING A BROKEN TOOTH IN VISIT

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Isn’t technology marvellous! We had a lady in from West Derby near Liverpool yesterday morning, who was panicking as she had broken the side off a tooth the side of her smile, and it left her with a space when she smiled. What made it even worse, is that she had a family function to attend that night and she didn’t want a gap. What was she to do? Her own dentist couldn’t see her for 2 weeks, and so she went onto the internet and found our website www.saving-faces.co.uk, and found that we could fix her tooth using the most modern dental technology, CEREC.
We used the CEREC ,system that computer generates new porcelain fillings or crowns within an hour.We then glaze them in our furnace, and bond them to the tooth. All CEREC porcelain fillings , inlays and crowns are guaranteed for 5 years , here at SAVING FACES in Aintree, near Liverpool.

CEREC is also probably the most effective way to replace old silver fillings with white ones in West Derby , Mossley Hill, or any where in Liverpool and surrounding areas..This technology is available in only a very small percentage of practices in the uk.To have a free cosmetic consultation, please ring 0151 526 0026, where our reception team will be delighted to help you.
