Dental implants have always remained the choice option to replace lost or missing teeth. Most people worldwide prefer these to removable dentures or fixed dental bridges since the implants are for long-term use and can be surgically placed into the jawbone by your dental surgeon.
An implant is usually made of titanium metal which integrates extremely well with the bone tissue and is fused into the previously drilled socket of the jawbone in the place of the missing tooth by a procedure called osseointegration. It is composed of three parts;

• Abutment – this is the region over the titanium implant and protrudes from the gums
• Crown – this appears as the tooth and is created by a restorative dentist to give it a natural appearance.
The best thing about dental implants over removable dentures is that since they are fixed to the bone, they never slip or make funny noises to give any indication that you have false teeth. The advantage these implants have over fixed dental bridges is that they do not affect the neighbouring teeth or cause bone loss. Multiple implants can be used if you have more than one missing teeth. Being tightly locked into the jaw bone, they provide stability giving you the confidence you possessed with natural teeth.
